China's Leap Forward: Successful Test Satellite Launch for Global Internet Connectivity

On April 2, 2025, Addis Ababa reported that China launched a test satellite aimed at developing satellite internet technology from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the nation’s northwestern region on Tuesday.
The satellite was launched at noon (Beijing Time) using a Long March-2D launch vehicle and successfully reached its intended orbit.
Trial satellites for satellite internet technology are mainly utilized to carry out technical validation and research, encompassing mobile-to-satellite broadband services as well as the merging of space-based and terrestrial networks.
The launch marks the 567th mission for the Long March series carrier rockets.
