Bedridden Jamal Yunos Relearns Speech in Malaysia

PETALLING JAYA: Jamal Yunos, the head of UMNO in Sungai Besar, has shown appreciation towards Ng Suee Lim, his previous opponent from DAP, for paying him a visit at the medical facility where he is receiving treatment for cancer.

Despite being bedridden and struggling with fluent speech, Jamal expressed joy at seeing his friends who carved out time from their hectic schedules to provide him with emotional backing.

"I have only recently begun speaking once more. My friends are also looking after me very well," Jamal stated in a video shared by Ng.

Recently, Jamal's health has declined due to the progression of his cancer from the lungs, which has resulted in a 3 cm tumor in his brain. Currently, he is receiving medical care at a private facility in Ampang.

Ng, who is vice-chairman of DAP and assemblyman for Sekinchan, said he prays for Jamal’s recovery so that he can return to politics and contribute to Sekinchan’s development.

"We were opponents before, but now we have turned into friends," Ng stated.

They were intense competitors until Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan joined forces in the unity coalition government.

In July 2023, Jamal and Ng settled their differences as the Umno leader praised Ng while campaigning during the Selangor state legislative elections.
