CNN Host Challenges Jim Jordan: Why Not Impeach the Judge?
A CNN host became snappy with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the leading Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, criticized a judge on Wednesday for ordering the Trump administration to redirect a plane carrying migrants who were being deported.
CNN's Kasie Hunt had Jordan Participate in her program "The Arena." Jordan mentioned that usually, the "appellate court is the fix for poor choices," but in this instance, he suggested that it appears there might be "something somewhat distinct at play here."
"The ruling made by this judge was incredibly absurd; it appears to have been politically motivated," he stated.

Jordan noted the judge, James "Jeb" Boasberg , has previously worked at the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court during the "entire Trump-Russia nonsense."

I believe we could be looking at a judge who’s operating politically," Jordan stated. "This raises a separate issue.
Jordan stated that "every option remains available" regarding the judge, and pledged to "hunker down" and "investigate" further into the details of the judge.
When you take a good hard look, Kasie, at how foolish this judge’s ruling was, I mean he didn’t mince words; he actually stated — send the aircraft back, return the gang members and habitual offenders who have committed numerous crimes, individuals who were in the country unlawfully. He wants us to bring these troublemakers back into our nation," Jordan exclaimed angrily. "This decision seems absurd outright.
Hunt subsequently asked Jordan about what actions "precisely" the judge took that could be seen as grounds for impeachment.
However, Jordan appeared to have difficulty responding.
"What I’m trying to say is, if someone isn’t engaging politically but simply adhering to the law—ruling based on the law—and I’d contend that this judge’s decision alone indicates otherwise, consider what the Constitution states clearly. In Article II, Section 1, the initial clause asserts that the executive branch’s powers are entrusted to the President of the United States. This grants the president the necessary authority.”
As Jordan tried to continue, Hunt questioned if there was a large body of law that would mean Trump would likely win. But Jordan ignored her and continued defending why he believed the judge's decision was political.
Hunt didn't allow him to escape the situation anyway.
"If you're the White House, why not put that appeal through? Why not use the process that's available to you right then?" she asked.
Jordan said there very may well be some appeals in the process and returned to his initial assertion.
"This judge looks different than the other things we have seen," he said, later vowing to hold hearings on the "entire issue" of judges filing 15 injunctions.
When asked directly about potential impeachment hearings, Jordan stated they are "exploring every possibility."
"We’re leaving all options open — I would never close them off," he joked.
