Cleophas Malala Arrested Over Controversial Play "Echoes of War" in Butere

The former Kakamega senator, Cleophas Malala, has complained about alleged harassment carried out by individuals presumed to be from the state security forces.

The politician released a video where he vehemently criticized the said officer for attempting to arrest him due to a contentious script he wrote for Butere Girls High School’s performance.

Malala can be heard strongly protesting about being manhandled due to a simple school performance.

"He questioned why he was being approached about a play, arrested merely for composing one. 'What crime have I actually committed?' He demanded to know. ‘Tell me what error I’ve made. Am I being targeted because my only transgression is writing a play, or did I commit some other offense?’" he asked.
