Manchester United could offer Rasmus Hojlund According to a report, Chelsea has completed an eye-catching part-exchange deal for Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.

Hojlund has had a dismal season at Old Trafford - his second since joining for an enormous £72 million transfer from the team based in Bergamo.

The Norwegian forward has managed to score only three goals in 28 league matches this season. Following yet another unproductive performance, the 22-year-old was replaced after 70 minutes during United's 1-0 home defeat. Wolves on Sunday.

Lookman inspired Atalanta to Europa League In the previous season, he scored a hat-trick in the finale. His outstanding performance led to him being named African Footballer of the Year in December.

Nevertheless, he has been involved in public disputes with his manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, and appears likely to leave the club this summer.

Meanwhile, Hojlund continues to be highly regarded within the club, as indicated by the latest report. The document further states that scouts have been monitoring his recent performances and staying in contact with the player’s representatives following his exit.

After his poor display over the weekend, Premier League icon Alan Shearer labeled Hojlund as a 'damaged player' and expressed that he thinks Hojlund might be experiencing a 'confidence crisis.'

Even with his recent struggles, Hojlund has kept his position as United’s top forward for most of the season under manager Ruben Amorim, staying ahead of Joshua Zirkzee and young talent Chido Obi-Martin.

However, the team is reportedly looking for a forward in the approaching transfer window. Recently, Wolves' Matheus Cunha has become a potential candidate to join this summer.

On Monday, Mail Sport reported that Manchester United are nearing an understanding with the player from Brazil.

Manchester United will still require triggering the Brazilian player’s £62.5 million release clause but remain optimistic about finalizing agreements by next month. They continue to operate comfortably within their Profit and Sustainability Regulations limits.

As Mail Sport revealed, Newcastle United have been the main competition for Cunha's signature, and they were keen to utilise him on the left of their attack, but the 25-year old looks to have been swayed by the prospect of playing a pivotal role in Ruben Amorim's squad revamp.

Amorim openly expresses his appreciation for Cunha, commending his adaptability and ability to score goals.

The United manager was seen talking with Cunha following the match between United and Wolves at Molineux and again in the tunnel at Old Trafford on Sunday.
