Party Central Committee Holds Key 11th Plenary Session

The 11th Plenary Session of the 13th Party Central Committee commenced in Hanoi on Thursday with General Secretary To Lam presiding over the meeting.

The meeting agenda will concentrate on 15 items under two primary categories of concerns. The initial category pertains to the continuous reshaping of the political system’s organizational structure as well as the realignment of administrative divisions into a bi-level local governance framework.

The second focuses on the preparations for the 14th National Party Congress, along with the election of representatives to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at various levels for the period from 2026 to 2031.

At this plenary session, the Politburo will present to the Party Central Committee regarding personnel issues under its jurisdiction and provide an update on the prevailing conditions at both national and international levels.

The Party Central Committee will examine significant choices made by the Politburo and Secretariat following the 10th plenary session. They will also look at specialized reports covering improvements in institutions as well as pivotal advancements in scientific and technological progress, innovation, and nationwide digital transformation.

The plenary session is set to continue until Saturday.
