Pentagon Chief Assures: US Seeks No War With China

The United States does not aim for conflict with China but will take action to discourage what it sees as "threats" in the Americas, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth cautioned during a statement made in Panama on Wednesday.

"We are not looking for conflict with China... However, we must collectively work towards preventing war by strongly and actively countering China’s challenges in this region," Hegseth stated during his visit to Panama on the second day. The country's canal is currently a point of contention between China and the U.S.
