Michelle Obama Speaks Out: Dispelling Divorce Rumors About Barack
Michelle Obama ultimately refuted the speculations about her relationship with the ex-President Barack Obama were on our way to getting divorced.
The ex-first lady had an interview with actress Sophia Bush for one episode of her podcast titled "Work in Progress" and mentioned her choice to miss President Jimmy Carter's funeral and Donald Trump Her inauguration was merely based on choices she made for herself.
Her absence from both major political gatherings fueled speculation about their separation, just as before. Last week, President Obama acknowledged he mentioned being deeply indebted to his wife.
Michelle Obama pondered, 'This can’t simply be about an adult woman making choices for herself, could it?'
"That’s what we, as women, often find challenging—being okay with letting others down. This year, when I made choices centered around myself, people found it hard to accept, assuming instead that my husband and I must be getting divorced," she went on to explain.
The 61-year-old Obama mentioned that she is attempting to shift away from the mentality of seeking validation from others.
Obama stated, “We begin genuinely, ultimately asking ourselves, ‘What am I accomplishing here? Who am I doing this for?’ And if our actions deviate from the conventional expectations others have set, they often get branded with a negative and unpleasant label.”
