Kadjebi Champions Child Health Week: Urges Regular Monitoring and Weighing

Kadjebi (O/R), May 7, GNA - The Kadjebi District Directorate of the Ghana Health Service marked Child Health Promotion Week, urging parents to ensure frequent weight checks for their children.
A lot of caregivers do not know about fundamental aspects of children's health, including vaccination, proper nutrition, cleanliness, and illness prevention.
As a result, health education equips them with the understanding needed to take action.
Mrs. Mabel Amankwa-Amoah, the Health Promotion Officer for the Kadjebi district, revealed this information during an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA). The conversation took place in Kadjebi within the Oti region.
She mentioned that the week was marked with the theme "Every Child Deserves a Healthy Future; Invest in Your Child. Attend Weigh-ins Regularly," and highlighted routine weigh-ins as they provide "a straightforward and inexpensive method to safeguard children's health and secure their futures."
The Health Promotion Officer informed GNA that they involved community members, local leaders, schools, and caregivers in the district to enhance the health and overall wellbeing of children throughout the area.
Mrs. Amankwa-Amoah additionally educated the community about vitamin A supplements and deworming, the utilization of insecticide-treated nets for malaria prevention, as well as promoting good hygiene practices, amongst other topics.
She emphasized that children's well-being is a collective duty—not only for parents, but also for educational institutions, community leaders, and neighbors, as each of them has an important part to contribute.
She emphasized that a healthy child develops into a capable adult, and enhancing the well-being of children leads to a more robust community since vaccinations, regular health checks, and similar services protect and strengthen kids right from the beginning.
