AI key for health, education, innovation, says Bill Gates

Bill Gates, Microsoft's co-founder, has stated that artificial intelligence will be essential in developing new resources for health care, education, and farming.

The philanthropist made this statement during a meeting with Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday.

In the capital city of Jakarta, Gates met with Subianto and various Indonesian philanthropists to discuss his belief that innovations fueled by artificial intelligence can address worldwide issues.

He stated, "AI will assist us in uncovering new tools. Furthermore, in providing guidance on health, education, and agriculture, AI will play a key role."

“After we successfully eliminate polio, our next objectives are to tackle measles and malaria. We possess new tools for these challenges, and I am optimistic due to recent innovations, including the advent of artificial intelligence.”

In his reply, Prabowo mentioned that billionaires who engage in charity have contributed over $159 million to Indonesia since 2009, primarily supporting the healthcare industry, which includes financing for vaccines.

Later, Gates went to visit an elementary school in Jakarta with Prabowo where they observed students enjoying free meals as part of a program initiated by the Indonesian leadership.

For over 40 years, UN agencies have been working tirelessly to eliminate polio, which is frequently transmitted via sewage and polluted water.
