Chairman Nepal’s comments come as pro-royalist factions have recently intensified efforts to restore monarchical power within the nation. He noted, “There is now a demand for systemic transformation. While the current capitalist framework needs reforming, reverting to feudalism would be counterproductive. Over 104 years under Rana dominance and an additional 240 years with monarchic control saw leaders prioritize personal agendas over national welfare. It is imperative that we move beyond these eras of self-serving governance. Establishing a socialist republic represents our best path ahead,” he stated.
Chairman Nepal called for an end to the mindset of hereditary leadership and strongly condemned former King Gyanendra Shah. He charged the ex-king with plundering the nation without offering any sacrifice, practicing austerity, or contributing positively. "It’s crucial we do not return power to individuals who have a record of pillaging our country," he stressed.
Chairman Nepal additionally noted that the present capitalist framework within the nation needs transformation to create a socialist state. He highlighted that this current setup is dominated by comprador capitalism, stressing that such an economic structure should come to an end.
Stating that a socialist system is necessary to preserve the dignity, prestige, and integrity of the country, Chairman Nepal said that the unity of the people is essential for this. He called upon the Nepali people to move forward in the direction of a socialist republic.
