Vietnam Unearths 12 Gold Mines Boasting Over 10 Tons of Precious Metal

According to the Mid-Central Geological Division, a significant find of gold in central Vietnam has uncovered 12 deposits holding more than 10 tons of gold and 16 tons of silver.

The findings came about after conducting geological surveys in 32 regions showing promise for gold deposits.

The Vietnamese authorities have pinpointed approximately 500 gold-rich sites across the country. Among them, thorough investigations at 30 locations indicate potential gold reserves totaling about 300 metric tons. These mineral deposits are largely found in the mountain regions of Northern Vietnam as well as various central provinces.

Beginning in 2025, the Department of Geology and Minerals initiated a new initiative aimed at assessing the mineral resources in central Vietnam, with particular emphasis on areas such as Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, and Phu Yen provinces.

A new mineral exploration initiative launched in 2017 has recently uncovered 40 gold deposits, boasting an approximate combined reserve of around 30 metric tons.
