Netflix Sets 'Perfect Couple' Season 2: Elin Hilderbrand's 'Swan Song' Takes Flight

has been informed by reliable sources that Netflix is planning a second season for the hit series adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s novel "Swan Song." Since this book presents a completely distinct narrative and cast compared to "The Perfect Couple," which was derived from another one of her novels, they aim to adopt an anthology format for the show.
Joanna Calo is set to pen, serve as an executive producer, and oversee the upcoming season, though it hasn’t received official approval yet. Nicole Kidman, who starred in the first season, will be an executive producer for Blossom Films alongside Per Saari, with additional executive producers including Gail Berman, Shawn Levy, Susanne Bier, and Hend Baghdady.
Netflix representatives chose not to comment.
Similar to "The Perfect Couple," "Swan Song" is set in Nantucket. However, instead of centering around the Winbury family, this book delves into the enigmatic Richardson clan. As per the official synopsis of the novel:
Chief of Police Ed Kapenash is set to retire soon. Meanwhile, blond Sharon is navigating her way through a divorce. However, things take an intriguing turn when enigmatic individuals known as the Richardsons buy a $22 million summer residence—how precisely have these people amassed such significant wealth? This event draws Chief Ed, Sharon, and all members of the local community into a whirlwind of suspenseful events. The Richardsons host extravagant gatherings, engage romantically with several residents, showcase their affluence with dual yachts, and inspire unrealistic aspirations among those around them. As tensions escalate further following the complete destruction of their mansion along with the disappearance of their key staff member, the whole island finds itself in turmoil.
So far, no cast has been finalized for the series. It's worth mentioning that Kapenash was retitled as Dan Carter in the "The Perfect Couple" series adaptation and portrayed by Michael Beach. However, it remains uncertain whether this character will appear in the upcoming season.
