Amazon Prime Ditches "Creepy" Series With a Perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

Though it's been over half a century since then, Amazon Prime Video Fans can now finally enjoy a timeless Gothic TV series.

The streamer has recently included the inaugural on-screen presence of the legendary The Addams Family , which initially ran for two seasons from 1964 to 1966.

Inspired by Charles Addams' New Yorker comics, this iconic family has been adapted into multiple television shows and movies, such as the eponymous 1990s film. Netflix spin-off Wednesday with Jenna Ortega .

In the '60s series, audiences meet the tight-knit Addams Family, known for their paranormal skills, as they encounter cultural conflicts with the external world.

The eclectic and fascinating ensemble features characters such as Morticia Addams (Carolyn Jones) and Wednesday Adams ( Lisa Loring ), Uncle Fester (Jackie Coogan), and the disembodied hand known as Thing.

The series boasts a flawless 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and according to Reddit users, the original TV show of The Addams Family remains impressive even after 61 years.

Included among them is ThisPaige, who commented: “I wish I could express how much I enjoy this. Carolyn Jones’ portrayal of Morticia definitely stands out for me, and Gomez is truly excellent as well. Several storylines caught my attention; particularly those involving Morticia’s sister, which seem ripe for future reinterpretations.”

Javaper concurred and stated: 'I genuinely adore this series. Everything that followed is acceptable to me, but the cast of this original was perfectly suited for a child.'

Eles_Nedlyg5 echoed this feeling by stating: "It's my favorite version of the Addams Family. It's quite underappreciated, yet each actor delivers an outstanding performance."

In the meantime, critic Bill Gibron noted on Rotten Tomatoes: 'The Addams Family shines brightly. The casting is impeccable, the performances are outstanding, and its defiant attitude and inclinations make it an ideal indulgence for the post-millennium audience.'

Jen Chaney stated: "The Addams Family distinguishes itself from others due to its beatnik-inspired ghostly house soundtrack; its refined costumes, makeup, and stage design; as well as the caliber of its group performances."

This year, Netflix will release the second season of the coming-of-age thriller series Wednesday.

The popular series centers around Wednesday Addams (Ortega), who enrolls at Nevermore Academy—a exclusive institution for gifted youngsters with extraordinary abilities—at the behest of her parents, Morticia ( Catherine Zeta-Jones ) and Gomez (Louis Guzmán).

The details of the storyline for the sequel have been tightly guarded secrets, however, a brief preview clip indicates that the events will unfold once more at Nevermore Academy.

Also joining the cast is Lady Gaga, aged 38 – though the role of the singer from "Abracadabra" hasn't been revealed yet.
